Does anyone know if this config (Redhat Enterprise Server 3.x & Plesk 6.x)
    if currently supported by Plesk?

There are some bugs... but dont know where to keep an eye on the situations and updates.. any pointers?

    regards

    I don't think it's 'officially' supported yet.
I have it running just fine on RHEL 3.0. You have to downgrade a few items if you want frontpage/tomcat support, but otherwise it works great!
(do a search for RHEL 3 and you should find a good howto on this forum for which modules to remove/downgrade to get fp to work)

    Thanks

As it was without changes .. got my domain(s) httpdocs as set to 750 and owned by group 'root' not 'psacln'

.. and who knows what other mess there is...

does Plesk know when there will be a supported release for RHEL 3?

If I proceed with instructions as per
    http://forum.plesk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10704&highlight=RHEL

will I then after RHEL 3 is supported be able to get automated updates by my host without creating problems?

I actaully dont need frontpage support or tomcat nor pSQL..
    any further suggestions greatly appreciated..

    Thanks

If you don't need frontpage or tomcat then you should be able to install plesk via their rpm's without any problems.
I was able to, but I wanted fp support so later I reinstalled and downgraded certain modules.

    Thanx

The problem is the no domain displays after created in plesk.. and i only share the primary ip .. so i have all domains as name based..

    in
    /home/httpd/vhosts/mydomain.com/
    this is what I have..

    drwxr-x--- 4 fudge root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 anon_ftp
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 bin
    drwxr-x--- 2 fudge root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 cgi-bin
    drwxr-x--- 2 root root 4096 Dec 14 17:32 conf
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 error_docs
    drwxr-x--- 2 fudge root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 httpdocs
    drwxr-x--- 2 fudge root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 httpsdocs
    drwxr-x--- 2 root root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 pd
    dr-xr-x--- 7 root root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 statistics
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 13 22:15 web_users

so gid is wrong if i compare it to older rh/plesk versions.. shouldnt it be "psacln" and not "root"
and the dirs such as httpdocs are 750 not 755

this is a newly kickstarted server.. and these are the results of plesk when new domain is created..

Do you have same on results on your RHEL3/Plesk6 setup?

Greatly appreciate the feedback & help in what to do.

    thnx

    RedHat Linux 3 WS

Anybody tried the new RedHat RedHat WS with PSA yet?

From my understanding, the backbone of the three is the same (kernel..etc) it's just what is packaged with them that is different. I think WS can handle 1 or 2 processors, ES up to 4, and AS 4+

WS (made for workstations) is probably going to lack some of the key packages that you need to support a web server. The ES version in the RHEL does fine - at least ES 2.1 - I have several servers I've built running Plesk over RHEL ES 2.1 and a number of Data Centers are going to it as a replacement for RH 7.x.

    Which version?

Am I correct in assuming that the correct version of PSA to install for RHEL 3 ES is the PSA for RH 9.x?

    Yes.
Do a search for RHEL 3.0 on the forum.
There is a guide to what you need to do to get PSA 6.0.2 to work with RHEL 3.0

I have been using it for over a month now with FrontPage extensions with no problems whatsoever.
