    Okay... So, I downloaded the CentOS5 x86 and created the new container...
    I give it the local media as the install source and it fails on the Server Hostname check...
    Is there a standard for which is an acceptable hostname of a container?

    That's strange. The check on my container with your hostname is passed successfully.

    Try to execute following script on the container:
    What result do you get?

    pasted it into a file as shown below...
    Note: deleted the old and recreated a new container with only the network options configured...

    Please set a hostname for the container and re-run the installer.

    Hmm... Looks like a bug.

    If I set the hostname via vzctl at the time of creating the container, the PBAS installer fails on the hostname check. But If I set the hostname after creating the container, it works!

    You guys might want to investigate this one further.

    just had the same issue - the culprit is that the regexp in hostname validation script wants the last part of the hostname to be alphabetical and between 2 and 6 symbols long: [a-zA-Z]{2,6}

    therefore obviously things like localhost.localdomain are not OK as far as the script is concerned

    This issue was fixed in PBAS 4.5.2
