Ownership of directories

I notice when I cd /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts and ls -al, I notice that there is a mixture of ownership & groups. From apache to root and pleskcln.

When I look in an individual vhost directory, I see ownership as root or , domain owner's FTP, and for group. Groups include pleskcln, root and apache.

This makes some sense if I see scripts that I've created as root, but it does not for directories / vhosts, etc that plesk has made.

All web sites seem to run fine.

Anyone have comments about what is right/wrong/proper?

    Thanks,

    :p

I would say this has to do with changes made throughout the upgrade process.

    Example:
    /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts

    site a = apache:apache
This is a site i created in plesk 1.3

    Example:
    /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts

    site b = root:pleskadm
This is a site i created in plesk 2.0

    Example:
    /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts

    site c = root:apache
This is a site i created in plesk 2.1

In the end it doesnt matter. As long as the files and directories under sitename/ are correct it will be fine. If you are picky like I was you can change the permissions.
