Does anyone know of a way to create a virtual machine for use in HyperV from a hard drive. Unfortunately the system board on this server fried. The hard drives were in RAID 1 and are readable without the perc RAID controller. I have one of the drives hooked up to my desktop now and have tried using Disk2vhd to convert it to a VHD file and then I created a new machine in HyperV using that VHD, but it just starts and then stops over and over again.

    Any ideas?

If that is Windows machine you can try booting it from an installation disk and doing some sysprep magic - it should help OS inside recognize the fact hardware has changed.
